There are many kinds of fungi of Penicillium and Aspergillus, and common species such as Aspergillus niger. After the wood is infected with this mold, the surface is black spots, sometimes connected into pieces.

After the general wood has been cut down, it needs to be treated with an anti-blue agent anti-fungal agent. Sodium pentachlorophenolate (NaPCP) has been used in China for more than 50 years to prevent blue mold and mildew resistance, and it is very effective to inhibit wood blue, mildew and decay. However, since the discovery of carcinogenic dioxin-like compounds in chlorinated phenolic compounds, sodium pentachlorophenol has been banned in more and more countries. Since the 1980s, many research institutes around the world have carried out the screening, development and protection of high-efficiency, low-toxicity, non-polluting protective agents against wood blue and mildew, and nearly a thousand compounds have been screened. At present, new compounds widely accepted in most countries include: thiocyanatomethylbenzothiazole (TCMTB), methylidene dithiophenate (MBT), 3-iodo-2-propynyl butyl amide (1PBC), quarter plating (eg, dimercaptodimethylammonium chloride (DDAC)], octahydroxyquinoline copper, triazoles (eg azeconaz|e, hexaconzole), chlorothalonil ( Chlorothallonil)

Mold growth requires a suitable temperature and humidity environment. The most suitable temperature for mold growth is 24 ° C ~ 30 ° C, the temperature is lower than 10 ° C, higher than 40 ° C fungal growth rate is slow. Low temperature can not kill the fungus, it can only inhibit, make it dormant. High temperatures kill mold in wood. When the wood moisture content exceeds 20%, the mold can grow slowly. When the moisture of the wood reaches 35% or more, the mold will multiply.

At normal temperature, the confined water accounts for about 30% of its total dry weight. The other waters are all free water except for a very small amount of water vapor. Taking the Swietenia macrophylla as an example, its original moisture content is about 60%, about half of which is bound water and half is free water. Talwanla cryptomerioides, because its original water content is as high as 150%, free water is more than four times the bound water. After the raw material has been treated with anti-blue and mildew resistance, it needs to be placed in the kiln for post-drying treatment to become a wood that can be used for making furniture. The temperature in the kiln must be higher than the temperature of the wood, and the drying is carried out gradually from the surface of the wood to the inner layer.

Furniture is prone to mildew because it is wet, and the number of paintings of furniture paint is too small, and the quality of the paint is also problematic. In addition, it is also possible to sprinkle water on the wood when making the furniture, or to make the furniture new if the wood is new. For moldy furniture, wipe off the mold with a dry cloth or a dry paper towel, and then brush the varnish again. If you can't wipe the mold with a dry cloth or a dry paper towel, you can wipe it with a damp paper towel or a damp cloth.

For indoors that are prone to wet weather, dehumidification can be performed. However, since the log furniture itself has the function of automatically adjusting the humidity, it is not recommended to dehumidify frequently, and it is usually necessary to dehumidify once a month. Put some orange peel in the furniture, put a box of quicklime in the inconspicuous place in the house, you can go wet and disinfect. The room should also be ventilated frequently, and the afternoon is the best time to ventilate. On rainy days, doors and windows facing south or southeast should be closed to reduce water vapor entering the room. The air humidity outside at noon is at its highest value and it is not advisable to open the window. In the afternoon or evening, when the climate is relatively dry, open the window to adjust the indoor air.
